One hot day, an ant went to the river to drink some river. But he fell in and couldn't get out.

A bird saw the ant was in danger(危险). “I must help him,” she thought. “If I pick up a leaf(叶子)and put it on the water, the ant can get onto it. It is like a little boat.” So the bird put a leaf on the water and the ant climbed onto it. “Thank you, Miss Bird,” said the ant. “I will help you some day.”

One day, a man saw the bird in the tree and was going to shoot (射击)her. Just then the ant came and bit the man's foot. The man jumped and his arrow(箭) went up into the sky. The arrow missed the bird and she flew away.

“Thank you ,little ant,”said the bird. “You helped me!”

（1）The ant wanted to swim in the river, so he jumped into the water.

（2）The bird saw the ant was in water. She wanted to help the ant.

（3）The ant fell in the river and didn't get out from the water at last.

（4）The ant wanted to help the bird , so he bit the man's leg.

（5）The man was going to shoot the bird, but the ant helped the bird.
